Crowded Physio room – WC2010

Much respected person in every football club, physiotherapist are over utilized this time than any other world cup football finals. These injuries made huge damages in many teams classy buildup. Just 72 hrs to raise the curtain, Few star player are with return ticket in hand. Shattered fans like me wish let this be the last return ticket please. Injured player list is getting bigger and bigger everyday, I am sure by end of this long tournament only few player will have full fitness for club matches in coming season.

FOR ENGLAND: Injury list topper is outgoing 3 lions captain, Rio Ferdinand, England captain is done after injuring ligaments in his left knee during practice hours. England goalkeeper David James was unable to train with his teammates and had to work separately in the gym because of knee woes. injured Barry, though fit in papers is not expected to play all the games, at least no full time run. Capeolo’s squad is the most affected of all, They lost David much before deciding the squad. Rooney is back from minor injury, he is not with best of fitness. Ex. Captain john terry is fit, but his body condition are not like 2 years before, He had fairly decent game in EPl, for his class current fitness not enough.

NANI, After suffering a suspected broken collarbone during training with the Portugal squad, Nani will join fellow Manchester United Rio Ferdinand on the sidelines for this summer’s tournament. All orangie, Robben confirmed a hamstring injury, though has stated that he only expects to be out for ’4 days or a week’. Has been receiving physiotherapy treatment from top doctor Dick van Toorn

Ivory Coast may have lost its star and captain, Didier Drogba, when he broke his right arm Friday in a 2-0 warmup victory over Japan. Nigera star Mikel will miss the World Cup following an ankle injury. American striker Jozy Altidore has a sprained right ankle and he is doubtful for Saturday’s tuneup match against Australia. Pirlo, the player of the match when Italy beat France to win the 2006 World Cup, injured his left calf in an exhibition loss to Mexico. Brazil goalkeeper Julio Cesar missed practice for the second straight day as he recovers from a back injury.

A world event should be placed in such way to regain fitness from tiered some domestic season. Almost 99% of players were involved in their respective domestic soccer competitions. After full season, FIFA should give them enough time to regain the fitness. Looking after money and commercial are not good at all. Start players going out of tournament will impact the whole tournament. FIFA should think about it. Some view were expressed in recent press release as well,

“FIFA should plan ahead and give the players more time to rest to have a good World Cup, Sadly, what happens is that the commercial side is what moves everything nowadays.” Jose Luis Chilavert, Paraguay’s former standout keeper told The Associated Press

Is FIFA going behind money with tight calendar? Or Is top clubs and domestic completion management is responsible for continuous football? For a fan like me .. 24×7 Action packed football is must.
